What are the different classes of fire extinguishers and how do they differ?

There are four different class types of fire extinguishers that are used in different scenarios. They are classified as A, B, C and D.

• Class A fire extinguishers are ideal for putting out fires that start from ordinary combustibles including wood and paper.

• Class B fire extinguishers are ideal for flammable liquids such as oil, gasoline and grease.

• Class C fire extinguishers are for electronics.

• Class D fire extinguishers are used for flammable metals.

• Class K fire extinguishers are for cooking with oils and fats.
